Jorge Barón '03, 2005 Liman Fellow, recently stepped down from his role at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) after nearly 17 years with the organization (the last 15 as executive director). Jorge is now embarking on a new challenge: seeking elected office. Liman Center Director Jennifer Taylor '10, shared news that the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of her husband, Evan Milligan, and other plaintiffs in the Alabama voting rights case, Allen v. Milligan. On June 8, the Court affirmed a lower court decision that Alabama's newest Congressional maps dilute Black voters' influence and violate section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
Alex Agosta, who began with the Liman Center in October 2022 as a temporary, part-time Center Coordinator, completed her term with us in late April.
