Six Summer Interns Boost Health Sciences IT Efforts: We extend our gratitude to the ITS Summer College Internship Program participants who collaborated with our team from June through August. Here’s a glimpse into some of their impactful experiences:
Matthew Rostkowski, a Business Analyst Intern with the Strategy & Portfolio team, highlighted his work on migrating Security Planning Assessment (SPA) tracking data from Excel to ServiceNow. He noted, "My favorite experience was managing the entire migration process—from gathering legacy data and creating necessary ServiceNow tickets to engaging with various stakeholders and drafting documentation." Matthew's efforts have enhanced the efficiency and oversight of over 30 active SPAs and established a comprehensive archive for Health Sciences IT's project and operational portfolios.
Akhmed Zhanaidarov, a Business Analyst Intern with the Yale School of Medicine Technology Support Services team, focused on improving record-keeping tools. He analyzed over 15,000 PeopleHub entries previously maintained in Excel and developed a Power BI dashboard to facilitate real-time data access. This dashboard enhances user experience by streamlining data retrieval and offering advanced filtering options to meet specific needs.
Yale Center for Clinical Investigation Launches New Ticketing System: The new Salesforce-based ticketing system, created by Health Sciences IT, will support YCCI's various services, processes, and six unique workflows. This tool will also develop metrics to track outcomes. Software Available for Researchers via Virtual Desktop: Together with members from Health Sciences IT, Research, Yale Procurement, Yale New Haven Health Systems Procurement, and technical teams from both organizations, has been conducting research on transferable software licenses. As a result of our research, it has been determined that SASS, SPSS, and STATA are all available to Yale researchers in the YNHHS virtual desktop. These software licenses may be used with clinical data for research studies.
