YNHHS Microsoft Teams Guest Access was enabled for School of Medicine clinical departments and other collaborators. Yale employees can now seamlessly join YNHHS Teams channels, sites, and meetings. On May 14th, nearly 60 members of HSIT gathered for a half-day retreat dedicated to the ongoing evolution of our distributed unit. Topics of discussion included new programs for research IT, analytics, educational technology Innovation, and generative AI.
Yale Joins Health Leaders in National Consortium on AI: Microsoft led Trustworthy & Responsible AI Network (TRAIN) consortium aims to make safe and fair AI accessible to every healthcare organization. The group strives to operationalize responsible AI principles to improve the quality, safety, and trustworthiness of AI in health.Congratulations, Ali Makhzangi, for Going the Extra Mile: HSITpresented its first Going the Extra Mile (GEM) award since launching the program in April. IT Support Specialist Ali Makhzangi was recognized for providing exceptional service to customers at the School of Medicine. New Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Streamlines Access to Clinical Research Data: All Yale researchers receiving PHI (protected health information) via a data set or extract, can be provisioned access to the data via YNHHS's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). This entry-level technology solution allows users to access their data remotely, while simultaneously keeping their data "on premises" at YNHHS. The VDI platform is preloaded with basic analysis tools, including Microsoft Office, R, and Python.HSIT Planning AI Prompt-a-Thon Sessions: Expanding on the success of the One IT Conference's prompt-a-thon, HSIT is partnering with other IT units to plan a health sciences-specific series. Staff and faculty in the health sciences will be invited to participate in an upcoming, interactive prompt-a-thons aimed at promoting AI literacy across the health campuses.
