Introducing Polymer: An Advanced Web-Based Analysis Tool
We are excited to announce the launch of the Polymer application, which leverages the OutSystems 11 platform to provide a secure and modern user interface for academic end-users. This user-friendly, low-data-risk, public-facing web application enables single and multi-protein analyses, complete with charting displays and export options. Additionally, Polymer offers restricted access for application administrators to edit and import gene data, as well as manage application-specific user permissions. This new implementation significantly enhances the capabilities offered by the legacy system previously hosted on Yale’s Spinup service using Docker Container.
This application is publicly accessible through the website to search for information on single or multi-protein entries and view their Native Extraction Index. Only application administrators are required to log in using Yale SSO to manage data and user permissions within the system.
AdobeSign Transition to Docusign
As of July 1, DocuSign became Yale’s preferred e-signature tool, replacing Adobe Sign. DocuSign operates on a pay-per-use model, with CFR Part-11 compliance costing double the standard rate of general signatures and is only required for legally binding documents.
$3.15/envelope (Non-CFR Part-11)
$7.54/envelope (CFR Part-11 compliant)
Effective August 1, 2025, all Yale principal investigators will be required to use DocuSign for signatures on their NIH Other Support forms for both proposed and active awards in preparation for SciENcv transitions.
TRANSFORMING LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS AND MODERNIZING COMMUNITY SPACES:
In close collaboration with the Audio-Visual System Design (AVSD) team, the Technology Support Services team has successfully upgraded 35 community-wide rooms across the health campus in under 24 months. These spaces—including classrooms, meeting rooms, teaching labs, and auditoriums—are now open and accessible to the entire medical campus community.
Each room features standardized control systems and Zoom capabilities, delivering a consistent and intuitive user experience. The design strategy emphasizes modular upgrades, allowing individual components to be replaced as needed rather than requiring full room overhauls. This ensures long-term alignment with modern equipment standards and support frameworks.
Collaboration with the AVSD team is encouraged to continue enhancing these valuable community spaces.
RETIREMENT CELEBRATION: Ralph Zampano’s contributions have made a meaningful difference at Yale. He began his journey with the university as the COVID-19 Testing and Tracing Project & Relationship Manager. He later transitioned into the role of HSIT Analytics Project Manager and most recently served as an IT Project Manager with the HSIT Application Services team. Throughout his tenure, Ralph consistently demonstrated dedication, strategic insight, and a spirit of collaboration in every role he held. Join us in wishing Ralph all the best in his retirement!
